Two Rivers High School

Enterprise Curriculum Statement

Curriculum Intent – The Enterprise curriculum at Two Rivers High School aims to teach students key skills used when setting up and running a mini-Enterprise. Pupils will be able to develop and use transferable skills including; communication, teamwork, money, creativity and planning in a variety of Enterprise events. The students will develop these skills and knowledge to enable them to apply them when running future Enterprise Projects and as they move on from school.

Implementation

The Enterprise curriculum is sequenced by topics. Students start with basic skills used when setting up and running a mini-Enterprise. The topics then follow a logical sequence building on students’ knowledge of Enterprise skills to contribute to the running of a Christmas/Easter and summer fayre. The students identify suitable ideas using mind maps, communicate with others in the team to decide upon suitable activities and events to run, and work together in a team to create products and resources to be used in the Enterprise events. Students then plan and set up the events based on their plans.

Impact

The implementation of this curriculum ensures that when students leave Two Rivers High School, they can apply a variety of transferable skills to college and beyond. They will have developed skills to work well in a team using effective planning and communications skills.
